Day 7: Rest day in Estella!

My first scheduled rest day of the trip! Even though it was a rest day, I still managed to put on 5 miles. Estella is a town of about 14,000 people, so not huge. Just right for exploring on foot. I

visited the Palacio de los Reyes de Navarra, which is an art museum featuring artists specifically from the Navarre region of Spain, and I also saw Iglesia de San Pedro. I can’t get over the beauty of the buildings here and the fact that people just exist with these beautiful structures while going about their lives.

I has lunch at a little cafe by the Rio Ega (every restaurant has outdoor seating here!) and had Patacones, which are deep fried rounds of plantains served with a blend of tomatoes, onions cilantro and cucumber. So amazing!

Back on the trail tomorrow!
