Day 34 & 35: Foncebadón to Molinaseca and rest day in Molinaseca

Friday started with an ascent to Cruz de Ferro (the Iron Cross). It is the highest point on the Camino at just over 5,000 feet. It is an iconic part of the Camino, and tradition holds that one carries a rock all the way from home with the intent of leaving it at Cruz de Ferro. This rock symbolizes something that you want to leave behind in your life.

The rest of the day was a descent (sometimes a sharp descent) into Molinaseca. Saturday was a planned rest day in Molinaseca, a delightful little mountain town with a river running right outside my room and lots of little delightful bars and restaurants.

The leg has less pain every day, which is a good sign. Apparently, the week off of it was tremendously healing.
