León is one of my absolute favorite places on the Camino. The tapas scene is like none another. Every little bar will offer you a free tapa…usually a couple of bites… with every drink that you buy.
Spending a couple of days in this beautiful town also allowed these shin splints to calm down a little bit.
Leon has changed a little bit since last time I was here two years ago. Some favorite restaurants that I visited are now closed, and now the entire plaza surrounding the cathedral is torn up and under construction. but the 800-year-old cathedral remains. The cathedral really is the center of this beautiful city, and many of the restaurants surrounding the cathedral and have outdoor seating.
